On the last day of the 2024 NC State Fair, the annual Sale of Champions Livestock Auction happens in the Jim Graham Building which is the culminating event of all the best youth food animals raised and shown at the North Carolina State Fair. Two of the animals sold at the Sale of Champions were the Grand and Reserve turkey hens. These 33 lb hens competed their way through 200 birds at the 2024 NC State Fair Youth Market Turkey Show to be top of the roost.

Thank you buyers of our 2024 Livestock Sale of Champions who purchased the North Carolina State Fair Youth Market Turkey Show Overall Grand and Reserve Champion Turkeys.

Grand Champion Turkey Buyers: Tally Farms, Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Association, & NC Soybean Assoc who purchased for $8,500 the hen that Annie Grace Manning of Nash County grew.

List of Scholarship Winners from Sale of ChampionsA portion of the more than $213,000 that the auction sale generated will go to a Scholarship Fund for participating youth. This year several youth that have participated in poultry youth programs each received scholarships including Matthew Peluso, Craven County; Talton Correll, Rowan County; Tara Burnham, Wayne County;  Isaac Linton, Wayne County; and Lexie Hester, Alamance County.
