The North Carolina 4-H Congress is an annual educational event sponsored by the 4-H Youth Development Department at N.C. State University and planned by the state 4-H Council.
4-H Presentation Egg Chef Challenge
4-H Presentations are an annual educational public speaking event sponsored by the 4-H Youth Development Department at NC State University and local counties and districts. The Egg Chef Challenge is one category that youth may choose.
This contest teaches participants to develop and demonstrate leadership and communication skills, acquire knowledge of egg quality standards, size classification, nutritional value, preparation, and storage; understand the functional properties, versatility, and economic value of eggs; develop creativity in the preparation and serving of egg dishes; promote enjoyment of eggs as a nutritious food, apply sound nutritional knowledge in meal planning, and learn teamwork skills.
NC 4-H Avian Bowl
Avian Bowl is a team quiz event that tests participants’ knowledge of a wide range of avian topics (think chicken quiz bowl!)
Avian Bowl is meant to make learning fun and stimulate youth interest in poultry. Avian Bowl is open to youth ages 8-18. If signing up as an individual, you will be assigned to a team for the competition.
NC 4-H Poultry Skillathon
NC 4-H Poultry Skillathon is a practical, critical thinking, exercise for youth to demonstrate their applied skills and knowledge of the poultry industry and how it relates to food animal protein production. NC 4-H Poultry Skillathon will be held in conjunction with NC 4-H Avian Bowl.
NC 4-H Poultry Judging
4-H Poultry Judging is a 4-H Activity in which participants compete in teams or as individuals to demonstrate poultry judging mastery
National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference
Poultry Pack 4-H Club NC State
Poultry Pack 4-H Club NC State is your Wake County 4-H club with an emphasis on poultry-related activities and projects. The goal of this club is to introduce youth to poultry science and give them hands-on opportunities with poultry from embryology stages to adult birds while incorporating the life skills such as leadership and citizenship which are fundamental to the 4-H model. Youth will learn how a 4-H club meeting, complete with officers and parliamentary procedure, will operate. Since the Poultry Pack 4-H Club is housed on campus, members will also have the opportunity to become acquainted with the inner workings of NC State University.
