Purdue University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA NIFA) have released the ninth in a series of five-year employment opportunities projections.
According to the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at N.C. A&T State University, “a strong job market awaits new college graduates with degrees in the agricultural sciences.”
The report, Employment Opportunities for College Graduates in Food, Agriculture, Renewable Natural Resources and the Environment: United States, 2020-2025, suggests that ” employment opportunities will remain strong,” but includes a note about the impacts of COVID-19.
The pandemic note suggests that while “fewer than the average annual number of employment opportunities will be realized in 2020, the project team anticipates expanding employment opportunities in 2021 and during the remainder of the period if the pandemic can be controlled.”
