What: 5-day residential summer camp at NC State’s Prestage Dept. of Poultry Science.

Who: High school youth interested in poultry, ag., or STEM may apply; 20 scholars will be chosen.

When: Application due Feb 28th; Camp dates Jun 15-19, 2025

Where: Application online; Campers stay in NC State dormitory with PSSI events held across campus and offsite tours with industry partners.

How much: Each PSSI scholar only pays $85 after completion of camp. The final cost to campers is $85. Each PSSI Scholar is awarded a $700 scholarship from US Poultry & Egg which covers most PSSI fees.

APPLYING TO PSSI

1. Identify youth 14-18 years of age
2. To apply: write a 400-600 word essay, create a short video narrative, and gather names and contact info of 3 references
3. Submit all application materials by Feb 28th (PSSI Application) *
4. Receive PSSI application status by Mar 28th
5. Submit registration materials by Apr 28
6. Attend virtual ‘Know Before You Go’ Meeting - receive packing list, code of conduct, etc.
7. Pack & Come to Campus to learn poultry science together on June 15th!
