Do you know a high school student interested in applying for Poultry Science Summer Institute? The Poultry Science Summer Institute (PSSI) is a four day immersion experience designed to broaden high school students’ understanding of educational disciplines, scholarship opportunities, careers and industries related to poultry science. Students will be introduced to the sciences behind poultry production ranging from embryology to immunology, feed milling to food safety, and beyond.
PSSI will be held on June 18-22, 2023 on the NC State University campus. Any high school student with an interest in poultry science may apply to attend. Students must list a high school science teacher, counselor, county extension agent, 4-H leader or vocational agriculture instructor as a reference and write a brief personal statement describing why they would like to participate. The 20 students selected to attend PSSI will receive over a $600 scholarship to attend this camp thanks to funding from the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association. Each selected student will only pay $75 to attend this camp.
Applications for 2023 are open until February 28.
